The Reconnection Method Part 3: Building Your Unshakeable Foundation

In our journey exploring The Reconnection Method, we’ve covered my story and introduced the basic framework. Now, let’s dive deeper into understanding each component and how they work together to create an unshakeable foundation for living your best life.

“True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.” – Brené Brown, “Braving the Wilderness”

Mind

As I mentioned in my last post, your mind has one core mission – keeping you alive. Think of it as that overprotective friend who’s amazing in a crisis but maybe a bit too paranoid at a dinner party. While it’s brilliantly designed to spot danger and keep you breathing (thanks, evolution!), this same survival instinct can transform everyday opportunities into perceived threats. That new job opportunity? Your mind might flag it as “dangerous unknown territory.” That art class you’ve been eyeing? Your brain could file it under “potential social disaster.” The irony? The very system that’s kept our species alive might be the thing holding you back from truly living.

Your job is to recognize when it throws one of its fits to stop you from growing, going, doing, or being something MORE than you are. It’ll freak out, tell you you’re not worthy, not good enough, that you CAN’T. Your higher self’s job is to let it throw its fit, get tired, and put it to rest by thanking it for the warnings, but you’ll need it to be on standby until the executive orders are given and it needs to execute on the mission.

It’s that simple, but this takes practice and recognizing when it’s happening to avoid it being a complete shit show 99.9% of the time. Because left to the mind, you’d hide under your bed all your life to be safe and not scared. But that’s not living. And your mind would prefer you to avoid danger at all costs. But again, that’s not living. And recognizing its strengths and its weaknesses is the key along with training it to work for you, not against you.

Body

To recap: your body is basically this powerful machine that keeps you in motion and active, but also acts as a storage unit for your emotional baggage. The moment your mind hits panic mode? Your body jumps right in with those physical warning signals.

Your Higher Self’s job is to give it ample space for release, to ensure what the mind has stirred up doesn’t stay in the body. Or what life’s BS has thrown at it hang around rent-free. Your Higher Self’s job is also to ensure it stays tip-top shape and not let the mind crave sugar, or alcohol or something that numbs the mental pain of life.

Because when treated well, the body is a source of so much power and strength. It is the literal vehicle for doing life. Protecting it is definitely on the job description of your higher self.

Soul

Remember, your soul is your gateway to possibility, your driving force for an incredible life, and the alarm bell when you’re off track.

Your job to your soul is to build that relationship with you. The “you” I spoke of earlier is the soul. Your job is to learn to hear her, to decipher what she wants, and to take action accordingly. To listen to your soul is the highest form of living. It takes time to build a relationship. The soul must gain trust from you and know that she’s safe to speak up and express herself. This is why managing the other two is essential so they don’t get in the soul’s way of communicating with you. The soul is your most important “child” or “employee” of the three. When she speaks, you listen, you console, you are there for her no matter what happens.

You build a home for her with a forcefield around her – where she can come out and play whenever she wants, wherever she wants, and with whoever she wants. Her comfort is the most critical part of building a home for you, and building a relationship with you.

Getting your mind, body, and soul to all work together is your highest priority so you can carry out your soul’s desires, which is your purpose in life.

Your higher self’s job is to oversee them and ground them into your desired life. It’s the best way to lead your life to a higher level of consciousness. One that an inconvenient wind won’t blow over or, to be less metaphorical, some asshole that decides to treat you like garbage on their bad day that started with a barista making their oat latte wrong.

Once you understand The Reconnection Method intellectually and implement it spiritually, your life will be the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen

You’ll heal.

You’ll feel powerful.

It’ll make you wonder how you ever lived before knowing this.

I don’t say this as some Ted talk type of approach thinking four minutes of your life will alter the universe. I don’t want it to come off as something that is a great book. I’ll soon make two dollars a copy if I sell it right.

But instead, I want it quite literally to be how you start living. Because let’s be honest, way too many of us are running around fifty times triggered, not knowing what the hell to do with all that angst and anger.

We’re hurting.

We’re suffering at the hands of success.

We’re doing what we thought was right, and it’s not fulfilling us.

It feels empty. We want more.

This framework is literally the only way to live in harmony with oneself, others, the earth, and our higher power.

It’s the way to be the best you can be. Have the most power available to you. And to deal with things that otherwise feel out of control, like anxiety and panic attacks.

With this framework, when life gets tough, I know where to go. I go inward. I check in with myself. I console myself. I have a home within me that is unshakeable. I know how to honor myself. I have a place I know I belong that is comforting and stable. I have a foundation that I know will always be there.

I hope it has helped. I know it has for me, and I wish that for everyone who can take it, understand it, and live by it without question so while we’re here, we can enjoy what we’re experiencing in this flesh human life.
